JWST Peer Review Information - Cycle 4
The pages dealing with the JWST Peer Review Information, for which the hierarchy is shown in the left sidebar, describe the process by which JWST proposals undergo peer review. This process is coordinated by the Science Policies Group (SPG) at STScI. The SPG is home to the scientific and technical staff that manages the allocation of archival research funding and observing time on the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) and the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). The SPG is responsible for maintaining the process of selecting the science program for General Observers (GOs) and Archival Researchers (ARs). The SPG is the point-of-contact between the James Webb Space Telescope Users Committee (JSTUC) and the leadership at Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI).
The SPG's key objective is to optimize and maximize the scientific productivity of JWST. The SPG fosters the submission of the highest quality scientific programs, including working with the community to identify key scientific areas for the investment of JWST observing time, and encouraging broad multidisciplinary and multi-observatory collaborations.
