Example Jupyter Notebooks - Exploring Data Products

Content Migration

WARNING: This page has been deprecated and the content migrated to JWST Pipeline Notebooks.  Please update your links accordingly.

JWST data products contain metadata that can be accessed via Python code. Example code, in the form of Jupyter notebooks, to extract and explore the information stored in JWST data products is provided in this article. These Jupyter notebooks have been created in the context of the JWebbinars.

Words in bold are GUI menus/
panels or data software packages;
bold italics are buttons in GUI

Using an uncalibrated (raw) JWST exposure:

Using JWST datamodels:

  • Explore stage 1 data products (detector corrections)
  • Examine stage 2 imaging and spectroscopic data products (calibrated individual exposures)
  • Take a closer look at WCS information for JWST data
  • JWST associations

Using the final data products from the pipeline:

  • Take a look at a JWST source catalog
  • Examine our final mosaicked image
  • Look at our final spectral data product

These notebooks have been written using version 1.1.0 of the JWST Science Calibration Pipeline.
