JWST NIRSpec has four available observing modes. The linked pages provide step-by-step instructions on how to fill out their corresponding APT templates.
All JWST NIRSpec observations are planned through the Astronomer's Proposal Tool (APT). Users define targets and observations and then select the appropriate instrument. NIRSpec observations are created by selecting a template (one per observation) and filling out any required fields. Four templates are available, one per observing mode: MOS, IFU, FS, and BOTS.
An observing program can consist of a set of observations using any combination of templates from the four JWST instruments, including NIRSpec. The following links provide access to articles that describe in detail how to fill out each template.
